Six FHS students were chosen to participate in the 48th USC Honor Band Clinic and Conductors Symposium at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. The clinic began on Friday, February 13, with a day of rehearsals and two concerts by various USC Ensembles. After rehearsing all day Saturday and attending three concerts, the event ends on Sunday with the students performing in one of four bands. Students are first nominated by the Band Director. Sophomores Mackenzie Roof - Trumpet and Roland Gerhardt - Horn, and Senior Benjamin Perkins - Horn, were selected for the VBODA District XIV All-District Band. The auditions were held in December, and those selected returned to Millbrook High School for two exciting days of rehearsal and performances on Friday & Saturday, February 6 - 7, 2026. The Virginia Choral Directors' Association (VCDA) District 14 All-District Choir was held at Millbrook High School on February 6-7, 2026. The All-District Choir includes students from Fauquier, Rappahannock, Warren, Clarke, Frederick, Winchester City, and Shenandoah Counties selected by auditions in November. Senior Maddie Rogers was selected for the SATB Choir. The Choirs rehearse both days and end the event with a concert on Saturday at 1:00 PM, open to the public.
