Tag Day is our annual fundraiser to end all fundraisers (We wish, right?!?!). Tag Day is Saturday, September 12, and all three high school music programs hold it together on this date each year within their own school communities.
We start at 9:00 AM at FHS, and most student groups, led by a Parent Group Leader/Driver, are finished by noon.
The premise is to ask the Fauquier community, door-to-door, for monetary donations instead of selling "stuff."
The name "Tag Day" comes from the door tags we leave on front doors if no one answers.
All Music Students (Band, Choir, & Orchestra) participate in Tag Day.
Students should wear FHS gear and colors!
Each student must return a completed Student Permission Form by Tag Day. Click the link to print your own, and copies are always available from their Director.
We need lots of parents to be Group Leaders/Drivers. HERE is the SignUp Genius.
Every Parent Group Leader/Driver MUST complete the FCPS Volunteer Form for the 26-27 school year, submit it at the FHS Main Office, and have your driver's license scanned. You've probably done this before for field trips and volunteering for 3rd Grade Field Day. You must do this once annually to volunteer at any school.
Each parent will have 3-4 students in their group. As Group Leader, you'll drive your students to your assigned area within the FHS Community.
Group Leaders supervise the students for safety. Students stay in groups of at least TWO.
Group Leaders will have a list of houses NOT to approach, checked against the State Police Registry.
If a house looks unsafe ("Beware of Dog" signs, for example), instruct the students to skip it. If the place is a sight, then things ain't right!
When your assigned area is complete, return to FHS. You're finished for the day, or, if another area is available, go for Round 2.
